I think it has to do with the words.
A beautiful woman you are dating says she will sleep with you in 6 months.....now that is a long time to wait.
Another beautiful woman you are dating says she will sleep with you sometime in the next 6 months. Now that gives hope since it will happen anytime within that time frame which includes tomorrow.

Now Doctors are typically smart, although I don't think they expect their words to be parsed under a microscope like their dissected cell slides, but when one is giving info saying "in the next 6 months" is telling a far different message than "in 6 months"....ie and I repeat it can happen anytime between now and 6 months from now....it is a short range to describe best case (now or near now) and worst case (in 6 months from now) and how could he really give a date certain when it is out of his hands. Between now and the end of the year is how I interpret it because he gave the lecture during August, so you got August, Sept, Oct, Nov ,Dec, Jan (to account for 6 the month range of time).......but most people are conservative and say 6 months as opposed to 5 months which sounds too exact, it is a rounded off way of speaking imho when using 6 months as a time frame. We are in good shape.

But I am glad Flip is concerned, not being only positive and is asking.
