As he and management at Alstom (when GE was in the process of buying Alstom) were ready to build the MVTG syn gas ERC, at Alstom expense if the Eurozone grant fell through. GE tried to get funding for it, but never (as of yet) stepped up to fund it themselves as they are and have been swimming in debt.....and are and have been too busy reorganizing the company and I suspect they (current oil and Gas, Power folks at GE) saw the MVTG ERC as competition to their core business.... at this time, and they held the purse strings.

Also, I might be able to answer your questions, if you post them here as this is my field (I am a chemical engineer) and I have been involved with them since 2010.

Lastly if you want real hard details, call the MVTG inventor, Professor Colin Oloman or PM him through LinkedIn. He should have a number and email you can google using his name and UBC University as search tools.

Also NORAM and BC Research (since 2009) officers/owners worked on the technology and one of the VPs at NORAM is a co-inventor with Professor Colin Oloman on the latest published patent application, and they should be able to answer many highly technical questions as well.

Last I heard Piorte was still at Mantra Energy in the lab doing work on the technologies.
