Defensive option play opened in Exxon Mobile. The stock off 30c to $79.14 and 11.7K Sep 77.5 puts bought for 78c verses the purchase of 363K shares for $79.13. The new position expresses the view that shares will likely see an uptick in volatility over the next five weeks, which doesn't include earnings. XOM reported 7/28.
