Chart reading shouldnt be done exclusively on its own, but it's a good tool when used with fundamental information, and is everything from minute charts to annual charts, so it depends on your investment horizon...basic supply and demand principles...stock is finite (at least when the outstanding isnt growing) meaning the supply is fixed...whats variable is the demand...when a stock hits a certain price, there will be buying or selling based on the sentiment of the market at specific point in time based on the information available or lack of information available and speculation involced...charts are good for giving you an indicator of buy/sell opportunities, but shouldnt be done absent of other information...
