Not true STENCH...first off I AM a GEOLOGIST...second I have a good understanding of Geologic concepts like this one that applies to BASHERS as well...

4) Law of Crosscutting Relationships: BASHERS that have forced their way up (intruded) into existing Stock (e.g., the CMKX STOCK in left image above) are DUMBER than the existing BASHERS (really just a corollary of superposition).
