As a general rule, dilution is bad. However, I'd rather own 1% of a company that is going up instead of 10% of a company that is bankrupt.

The truth is that while our percent ownership of LQMT had gone down due to the dilution of bringing Li in as an investor, our share price has gone up. We own less, but we are more wealthy. Not a bad trade off especially considering that in all likelihood we'd own 100% of a bankrupt company but for Li's investment.
