Will Anavex Fix Cancer?

...do the cancer drugs in our pipeline work the same as A-273?

Good question, one I've closely examined. Takes little thought to imagine the outcomes if Anavex pipeline drugs stop cancers.

And, on the Anavex pipeline page (http://www.anavex.com/pipeline/) several proprietary drug candidates are targeted at several cancers.

Too soon for me to confidently assess their potential human outcomes. The lab work on those cancers seems to remain unpublished, in-house.

But, could the mechanisms of action inside dysfunctional cancer cells restore them to health, as Anavex 2-73 does to bad neurons? Very possible, inasmuch as cell reproduction runs amuck (unrestrained, cancer) because the involved cells have lost normal reproduction controls. The root cause of this is variable; bad genes, disrupting chemicals (oncogenics), hormonal aberrations, and many others. Could Anavex drugs put things back together, so normalized cell physiology is restored? Clearly, Anavex thinks so. They don't list the pipeline cancer drugs without an inkling of success in lab cancer studies.

I'm in no position to make any Anavex/cancer prognostications. I haven't seen enough (well, any) data yet. Should the lab studies be fruitful, when appropriate Anavex will tell those stories.

I can wait.
