Then why are they using such large diameter casing?

This well used 30 inch conductor casing and 20 inch surface casing... Now they are installing 13 3/8 inch intermediate casing and planning to install another intermediate casing of 9 5/8 inches further down... So the final (production) casing will be 5 1/2 inches... I think the reason they need so many layers of casing is because they are drilling through so many high-pressure production zones!
