I just had to do it---picked up 500 units of NGL. Backing out the pending distribution, I effectively paid $12.23/unit. I'd be an idiot to pass this opportunity up so I had to follow through.

For the sake of visibility, I now control:

16,000 units of NGL

Cost basis is: $13.47

About the middle of August which is just around the corner, I'll be receiving $6,240 as my NGL distribution. Approximately two thirds of the income will go directly to margin relief, thankfully. The balance will feed into IRAs controlled by my wife and me. IRAs are not permitted the use of margin, by law. My use of margin costs far less than the rate of interest I'm paying for money borrowed to pay for a portion of my NGL holdings. In effect, distributions are paying my interest charges while also positioning me to build a large position that I except to begin paying off in rising valuation come 2018.

I hope this is of help to someone out there. If not, kindly let me know.

Happy hunting!
