Responsible for all aspects of technical operations including supporting business development, finance, IT, intellectual property, waste management, and facilities maintenance activities. While leading organizational operations, also regularly build and lead multi-disciplinary projects with specialized teams of 8-10, made up of engineers, technicians, contractors, consultants, and interns. Collaborate with academic labs . Successful use of lean principles aids coordination of multiple projects with minimum resources and equipment. Able to develop an inventory system to effectively track materials and projects. Regularly negotiate with vendors and suppliers. Effective at training and mentoring technicians, engineers and contractors.

•Conceptualized, tested, built, patented, certified, and marketed new products
•Successfully designed, managed, and delivered custom power systems to the Indian Military
•Accomplished an 86% debt reduction on AP from Suppliers equaling $300K

Derek started out as an Intern at Neah Power and is now a production manger. His career has evolved with Neah in large part with the evolution of Neah cells. Derek started out when Neah only could produce small "proof of concept" fuel cells. He has subsequently helped to scale the electrode fabrication processes to larger electrode sizes that have been used in Neah stacks. Derek is now a production manager in large part because of the success of his past efforts. He has tremendous drive, dedication, and has been supportive with all phases of the construction of Neah prototypes from building silicon cells, optimizing catalyst deposition processes, and supporting other rest of plant subsystem efforts.
