How much did Microsoft pay for a worthless company losing money?

I believe they paid around 7.5 billion and acquired a lot of liability

on top of it. So how much is a profitable company worth that has patents

you need and you owe a ton for back infringement on the acquired company?

Compound the value to Microsoft is no more payments, cross license and

the ability to monetize the use of IDCC in the Internet of things along

with the Hillcrest technology and I would put the value at close to

10 billion. The future is what Microsoft will be looking at and factor

the write down they get if they can write off the Nokia part and then the

savings on paying a license and cross license fee it would be huge.

Lets say I am right and Microsoft could acquire IDCC for half of what

I said IDCC would be worth which is 5 billion or roughly $145.00 a share.

Now if Microsoft indeed owed 3 billion plus interest to IDCC for the

Nokia infringement, then bottom line they would be paying just over

a billion, or pocket change. I don't think if Microsoft should buy IDCC

they would ever get them for 5 billion.
