I understand all that. But if a company was born around 2001, I can bet you'd be rewarded "in the grave" with this rate of growth, or rather oscillation, and I'll never forget his phrase from 2008 meeting: "people are the greatest expense, the burden" or something to that effect. So, in their mind, they just need a garage & 1 assembler. Yeah sure, lose all the key people and hope the investing cycle can repeat over & over for 16 years. How come others I worked for got high in 4 years, not 17? MAYBE by not alienating engineers, developers, visionaries. THE FACT AmpliTech is even a public company, was dueto my insistence in February 2012 !! - did you know that?, from 2007 thru 2012 they did nothing about going public as intended & mind you 2007-08 were years of growth before collapse, then botched several Private (non-public) investment opportunities, and i witnessed why it happened. Don't let me even start with Jedi Mind/Mind Technologies Inc.'s absurd joint project in 2010 trying to read BrainWaves using AmpliTech's amps in ULF (ultra-low freq.), or a metal recycling businessman & his son who did little more than wrecking Quick Books & making Irish jokes. But I kept trying to thrust ideas thru.
I foresaw many products to come, I saw & know how to make AmpliTech a $30M/year revenue co.,
but heck NO - it was sabotaged, and my friends left, Biz.Development manager left (ohh he was supposedly "lazy"), toilet in your face & entrance door's buzzer in your face & endless immature convos at frontdesk in your face for a full decade, then 3 engineers leave one after another... I gave up.
Over the years, I met industry's old-timers about 10-25 years older than all of us, who explained how & why AmpliTech played out as it did, and frankly I just hate my ideas being sold.
So continue your fascination with IBM, GIGO, GOOGLE, DoD, whatever, but I had enough of JediMind, & ignoring me in 2010 & prior 2008.
AmpliTech would be in a worse shape if I wasn't helping, beyond technical, i gave them several significant customers, which my plan was literally to EXPLODE sales as I knew/know HOW, can get stuff done with nothing but a phone, laptop and backyard of a Maryland house, because i know technical/curcuits/physics of these products "inside out".
They ruined even that.

P.S. So you bought it at 2cents/share?
When I was out of New York, they were in 60-75cents range :)
Enough said.
