As the most informed member of this "board", I have an unsubstantiated assumption to present.

KC was supposed to get 50,000 whatevers if he signed up Apple's i-pod to work on other equipment and still be encrypted. We know Jacobs is not a shy man and he talks in front of croweded rooms about the importance of laws to uphold copyright holders rights.

The 800 pound gorillas Apple and microsoft can reverse engineer whatever scmi has in their present patent pending encryption files, but if it violates a billion computers hard drives it is subject to jury awards of many billions of dollars against them.

Its like encryption is a "toxic" dump that can be treated like the rights of an "individual" are violated:

Right to privacy, freedom of whatever, a fast machine ,I paid for 3 megahertz and with encryption my machine runs slow and my movie download is studering...

We ,scmi become the expendable small company that takes the brunt of the problems for this new venture.

When Apple said I-pod is the only thing that plays I-tunes or I -movies, Its like anyone who wants a new york times newspaper has to go to new york city to buy one...

Thats stupid. imho

We have a better then 90% chance we are In this ball game.

IMHO...

What do you think?
