History MSFT, Azure MFA, PhoneFactor, SFOR Settlement

____________

Brief History of Microsoft and AZURE MFA, PhoneFactor and the Settlement with StrikeForce and then Microsoft's Final Push on Azure taking it Worldwide.

Don't miss the Final Word at the End of Post. An Eye Opener as to who really owns the OBB MFA.

Microsoft's Intial Mistake ?
Believing what they stated after Aquring PhoneFactor.

"they are an industry leader in phone-based multi-factor authentication (MFA) and their solutions bring a unique blend of security and convenience to our developers, partners and customers."
https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/microsoft-acquires-phonefactor/

Mirosoft acquisition of PhoneFactor ZDNet
"The newest acronym added to the Microsoft family, as of today: MFA (multi-factor authentication). "
http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-buys-authentication-vendor-phonefactor/

From what DD I have put together since investing in SFOR, Microsoft had began releasing MFA Azure in Sept 2013 with a Blog Post (see Screenshot/Link at the bottom of post, preparing to Capitalize the Azure as a Paid service.

Although having Azure Out as early as 2013. After Aquring PhoneFactor in Oct 2012.

Microsoft did not begin it's Final push taking it to 120 Countries until after the Settlement with SFOR. See Screenshot

IMO - Seems MSFT waited to hear the Outcome of the StrikeForce vs PhoneFactor Markman Hearing and the StrikeForce Settlement before going Balls to the Walls WorldWide.

With the Market Size and Pricing Scheme Microsoft was going after with AZURE's Secure Login, they needed to Settle with StrikeForce quickly and put the issue behind them.

THE FINAL WORD and Microsoft's Costly mistake.

Ram Pemmaraju's Patent on COBAS Filing date was Oct. 2004 with a priority date of of Sept. 2000.

Even though PhoneFactor began around in 2001

it's earliest Patent Filing date was Feb. 2009, with a priority date of Nov 2006.

Opinion :

Although Microsoft's PR on its acquisition of phone Factor on October 4th 2012, the Purchase Price was non-disclosed at that Time.

I have not been able to find the actual Purchase price.

IMO - I would imagine, Microsoft's $9.7M Settlement, was more or equal to the price Microsoft paid for PhoneFactor.

As I've said many times to the opposing team

Show me a OOB MFA Patent that Pre-Dates Ram Pemmaraju's ?

As all I hear is silence when it has been asked in the Past.
