Bigger retail investors tend to feel similarly, and with good reason.

Most of us have been burned by OTC's lack of credible standards. I routinely avoid such listings as I've blundered, too. I'm in HDYN because of my historical connections through Bob and Neil. Should Lady Luck prevail, my "winnings" will be going to charities named in a Trust.

OTC is fraught with disreputable statements and the burden is on each investor to attempt to make sense out of apparent imbalances or simply avoid affiliation with such picks altogether.

As for larger investors avoidance of penny stocks? These businesses are restricted by their individual charters so as to protect the corpus from questionable business practices that might damage their respective bottom lines. Many institutional investors are not permitted to invest in any concern whose share/unit valuation drops beneath $10 and wide fluctuations can kick some investments off the table. I support this style, myself.
