My only conclusion is that the stopping rule is much more difficult to obtain than we are led to believe.

Or, maybe they fully expect it to stop at the 80% and are just CYA because of bad experiences in the past.

I know this is reading tea leaves, but they did use interesting language at the 60% IA announcement that they were "continuing the trial to give the results time to become more robust." (paraphrased but the word robust was specifically used). I know the DMC recommendation to continue is supposed to be blinded, but maybe a wink and a nod? It is hard not to show a tell in this situation if it was done in person, and the company is allowed to have a rep at the DMC meeting outside the door, just not in the actual room where discussions take place (I saw this in an FDA doc on DMC guidelines). AMRN also recently sponsored the AHA ball in NYC, rang the bell at the NASDAQ open, and have talked about potentially spending money this fiscal year to hire more reps on successful R-It. Does this sound like a company that expects to have nothing going on for a year?
