"TROPICAL COMMUNICATIONS is a State licensed Electrical and Underground Utility Contractor, headquartered in Miami, Florida. Established in 1984, Tropical has been providing all types of communications services for 29 years.

Tropical’ s expertise includes any and all types of communications wiring, low voltage and underground utility contracting as well as fiber optic systems, splicing, testing and wireless capabilities. Tropical has wired thousands of new residential condominium units for voice data and TV, including copper and fiber optic backbones and has constructed Fiber to the Home (FTTH) systems in several small communities in South Florida. Tropical also provides custom and upgrade wiring for these homes during these fiber construction projects.

Tropical Communications specializes in commercial installations, office buildings, hotels, restaurants, stores, schools and government buildings. Customers include Miami Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade County IT Department, Port of Miami, Miami Dade College, FPL FiberNet, EarthLink, Wind stream and several leading DAS engineering companies.

Tropical recently completed the installation of Phase One of the Miami Dade County School Boards wireless project, installing over five thousand wireless access points in 140 schools.

Tropical has completed hundreds of new installations or repairs to existing underground conduit systems to facilitate new fiber optic installations to medical facilities, businesses, educational complexes and communications centers.

In 2011 Tropical expanded its wireless capabilities. Since then, Tropical has constructed Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) in several large venues including a local international airport, high rise buildings and a large sports venue. Tropical has recently provided fiber optic cable installations and splicing for DAS system upgrades at two other major sports venues.

In the works: Tropical Communications will commence DAS construction in two Florida airports in January of 2014. Tropical has been awarded fiber optic backbone upgrades in over fifty Miami Dade County Public Schools, scheduled to begin during the next phase of federally funded Library and Schools program. Tropical has been awarded and will commence the wireless construction in an additional twenty Miami Dade County Public schools in December of 2013, including the installation of 1000 wireless access points.

The future: Tropical will continue the pursuit of new DAS projects and DAS upgrades in major sports venues, medical and educational campuses, airports and large commercial complexes. We have submitted quotes and are waiting on awards for several large airport projects, stadiums and medical centers throughout the Southeast United States."
