had a similar problem with and HP, turned out there is a pin in the end of the power cord that plugs into the PC that broke off. I had taken to a repair place, he took on look at it, grabbed another power supply, and it was up and running again. I had the same blink, blink of the power light when trying to turn it on. thought it was toast.
