Question about the recent penny stock weakness across the board. I don't see a fundamental reason for this to have happened over the last couple of months, as the Nasdaq has been holding up well, with few exceptions. Plus much money was made just prior to the drop on lots of speculative moves.

So, why is it down now?

My theories:

1. Market maker collusion to 'encourage' price drops.

2. Volume drop, which increases spreads, which reduces buying and encourages selling. Perhaps volume drops over the summer months?

Is there a good -free- site that shows the OTC and penny stock volume and penny prices (penny index?) on a historical basis? I'd like to test out theory #2.
