here's one i REALLY want to answer.

<< Yesterday close there was less than 1m on the ask from .072 to 0.11. >>

Absolutely, positively, not true. Here's why. The MMs only show their lowest ask. SO if NITE has someone at .085, someone else at .090, and someone else at .075, you will ONLY see NITE at .075. If that is hit and taken out, THEN you will see it only at .085. Always the lowest ask. ANd this is a mistake MANY people make with level 2. They think they know what it on the ask, and say it is "thin" or is easy to surpass. Not always true, as the other orders are not showing. And one more thing. Many times, a MM will show something like .075 10K shares, and in reality he has 800,000 shares. Why? He is only SHOWING 10K. Or he may show 210K, when he has 800,000. I have done that myself. If I have a bunch to sell, I don't want to show 800K. It scares buyers and you don't get filled. So I show only 210K, or even 80K, and people buy it, but it doesn't disappear. Because I hvae more behind it. I can't do that with my Etrade account, but I CAN tell them what to show when I am selling some of my private shares (those dratted T -trades) and I am talking to my specialty broker who is right on the phone with the MM while we work out the strategy. Not this stock, but a few others. SO although Level 2 DOES help, don't think you can tell what is truly there, either from higher asks or from hidden shares.

Love answering when I can inform of things. Hope that helps some. smile
