Common sense tells us that the likelihood of dozens of "mom and pop" shareholders becoming millionaires out of this is extremely low, but that's what will happen if tens of billions are returned. I myself--along with several others--were heavily invested in preferred equity interests before the big crash/meltdown/whatever, and I know what my money would be worth today had it been in a low-risk treasury bond this whole time.

I'm constantly torn between what my emotions want to feel--hundreds of billions, which would make me more wealthy than Tom Hanks--and what common sense, logic, and experience tells me--that I'll see, at most, some percentage of face value and that's it.

Even after spending two days reading the 7th POR and affiliated court docs *again*, I'm still not convinced we're swaying in either direction.
