So how does a bidding war for Straightpath in March, April, and May enhance the transaction value of Fibertower on February 1st?

Don't you think a good portion of Verizon's purchase price was to cut ATT's legs out from under them?

This has been my point but I think only wireless has agreed. The saving grace may be that the FCC in order to approve may influence the purchase price for their future auctions or skim some off the top like they did with Straightpath in order to save some face.
