The placebo effect is commonly misunderstood.

The effect of a placebo can be seen in MRI scans of the brain and in various other physiological parameters. I read a report recently where placebo's obtained a positive effect when the patient was told they were receiving a placebo and an received explanation of what a placebo is.

The future's so bright I have to wear shades.
