CISCO's patents were based on CDMA transmission (multiple frequency) technology whereas Chanbond's patent uses FDMA transmission (multiple channel) technology. CISCO products use CDMA + FDMA to transmit data using multiple channels which is clear violation of Chanbond patent.
CISCO claims that CDMA could be FDMA meaning that CDMA could use multiple channels to transmit data (link below) but these are two different methods of data transmission. Courts rejected such claims made by CISCO. This is a win for Chanbond.
