For the curious nerds among you, check this out. Two graphs. The first is the CPU utilization of the webserver. Note how the utilization plummeted to a more acceptable level after killing SMSX.EXE. The spikes are normal. Message posting and searches are relatively expensive processes.
The second graph is the CPU utilization of the database server. Note how underworked that box is. It could easily handle 10 times its current load. The webserver obviously can't.
