Here is the ultimate irony for you:

Nokia loses the court case and the judge rules that at least one IDCC patent is essential. IDCC then informs Nokia that instead of the 1% - 2% royalty that it had been asking for, IDCC now wants 5% because of the essentiality of the patent!

Nokia, be careful what you wish for.
