pro bono, there could be some substance to your suspicion, I have felt the same way, but, I believe that they waited out enough time so that whatever negative thing there was would be fall outside the scope of the audit, they needed 2 consecutive years of clean financials plus the past year and an up to date on the current year, it's been long enough that any bad stuff should be like 5 years ago. But that is just my suspicion.
