Big Pharma has databases on MJ. Otherwise, how would they know the effect medical MJ would have on their bottom line?

Why would a company like Pfizer, that made $52B in profits last year, want to go off of some random database? Here are your two choices in databases:

1. Random people putting things into a device in an uncontrolled setting.
2. Laboratory controlled environment, no cross-contamination.

It would likely be cheaper for a Big Pharma company to continue work on its own database, something that's a known commodity rather than relying on random samples.
