fine maybe romine isn't great not saying he is although hitting 241 this year that isn't that bad, and I think he would be a little better when he plays regularly rather than on/off. You don't need a catcher to be great offensively. for me I rather have a so-so player in the 9 hole (Let face it your 9 hole is not suppose to be a great hitter anyways).

I'm just a believer the only position I'm all about the defense is the catcher, because if the strength is the guys bat, that is devalued by the fact that he will be missing 25% of the games and could get worn down by the end of the season. so I rather not waste my best offensive players where I'm guaranteed he is missing 25% of my games, it is guaranteed. you realize this, I lived through the piazza era I don't see having your best/one of your best offensive player at the catcher as an advantage I see it as a disadvantage. sure you will get more offense at the catcher position, but you will get less offense overall from the player when he is guaranteed to sit 20-25% of the games. with a great chance of injury or wearing down. I don't see how you can make and arguement against that in my opinion.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
