I don't know why anyone would short MaxD at the moment. Options are widely available though -- through the debt conversion. I can't imagine anyone who invests in convertible debt here these days expects the loan to be repaid. They expect they will have the option of converting the debt to equity, and thus the option of buying the shares at a 35 percent discount on the average market low for a set period.

When a debt is converted to equity, it is bought and priced at the contract formula. I believe a lot of the buying we are seeing isn't accumulation through open market purchases (expressing confidence in the future) but debt converted to equity. The more this happens, the more downward pressure.
