hettygreen...re TSX or Canadian stocks in general. I am a US investor but have been drawn to the many Canadian junior energy and mining companies. I bought thru the pinksheet symbols but was frustrated by the wider spreads on that I was forced to pay.

I did some research and opened an acct at Interactive Brokers. They have an automated trading platform that allows you to trade in several different currencies at low rates. I move money from my main Ameritrade acct electronically and it takes about 3 days. I am saving lots of bucks due to the better pricing that I am getting and the knowledge that I can trade between the bid and ask and get executions. Most times on the pink, you have to pay the ask on buys and take the bid on sells. The difference can be hundreds of dollars.

Interactive is not user friendly. It took me a while to get used to their system but I am happy to have made the move and have about 25% of my money in that acct now.
