I think the value he brings will be in those face to face meetings with the FDA. He's been there and most likely heard everything from both sides of the table. He will bring a wealth of knowledge and he should be able to shoot holes through any (if any) concerns by the FDA. That's where I see his value. In reducing red tape. One meeting vs many. A decision in a week not in months. Time will tell.

In the meantime, he needs to be up to speed because once the patent is approved his job will be the focal point in that we need to see progress on the trials.
