I just learned that the saying "batten down the hatches" to secure a ship's tarpaulins also has a garden application! Thanks.

About five years ago, a neighbor bought a small greenhouse. I suggested to add some support, but dropped it. I bet that batten tape would have kept it from being weakened by the high New England winter winds.
