Value, the patient posted additional comments in the thread. She talks about a major response with tumor reaction in a later post, then stable MRI in March. Has received three VB-111 infusions... with major response/tumor reduction in January, then stable in March, but with many clinical problems including ER visits for focal seizures, memory loss ext... now patient's caregiver is having difficulty flying given her husband's clinical status to Houston where the VB-111 trial is being done(taking Avastin locally).

While VB-111 is given at many centers in the trial, quite a few patents have to fly/drive--which poses obvious difficulty. This flying issue and the difficulties therein I hadn't appreciated. The CR I know of--which was not durable, also had to fly as had a few others... and I only have found like 8-9 patients I found on Inspire who were definitely on the trial.

But this case--always unreliable to make much of a trial one shows some interesting things--patient received 3 VB-111 infusions with major reduction/response in tumor volume initially -- now with latest MRI stable. If Dror's hypothesis is correct, this may be a typical case.... a reduction in tumor volume as contrasts with Avastin only... with hopefully an attenuated growth rate after treatment failure--or leaving the trial for any reasons.

Keep in mind, in looking at even the stellar phase II VB-111 glioblastoma trial--the 24 patients in the continuous group--with the exception of a single durable CR--all of the patients were 'dying patients. with, I'm sure, horrific anxiety, difficulties inherent in living and dying with GBM ' VB-111 works to extend the overall survival, but the treatment typically fails at some point and the patent's progress.

Out of 8-9 patients I've found on Inspire--Facebook who definitely got VB-111, there was one CR, the patient started in March '16 with VB-111 and got off trial in January '17 with progression, then underwent surgery, developed significant infection, when on Keytruda, had a horrible immune related side effect, and is now doing quite well. But, even in this best case out of the 9 I've found, looking at the anxiety, side effects--many serious, including severe fatigue with VB-111/Avastin--even as the tumor was vanishing.

Interestingly, I've found like two brief mentions about Avastin only--and no color or information could be gleaned, just a brief statement of being on the Avastin only arm.
