I read an excerpt from an email in which Otiko stated it expired.

You really think Otiko would blatantly come out and say the patent application expired when it hasn't? Come on. He'd be found guilty in an instant if he did something like that. As I keep saying, I cannot believe the guy would be that stupid to make the kind of mistakes you're describing.
