Well I guess that explains the need to exceed 20% dilution via LPC. Assuming A2-73 was the "only" Alzheimer's drug trial the Australian government actually planned to sponsor, I seriously doubt $4 is gonna get that done.

Not sure where the idea that Australia would sponsor the P2/3 came from but in addition to your point, AVXL has said that the trial would potentially be the first pivotal trial. This implies multicenter and with US sites predominating...not something the Aussies are likely to want to fund for AVXL's benefit.
