I learned to fly out of San Diego Lindbergh Field.

I don't fly United if I can avoid it, and yes the company went further into the abyss with the Continental merger. I flew Continental on the 767s often, first class had nearly lay flats. I did fly United PS between LAX or SFO to JFK. Their B class had lay flats and can be worth the cost if wanting to sleep.

As far as the LAX/SFO corridor, I drive it sometimes, I like my own car. Or Amtrak Coast Starlight is nice too. Like the glass roof car with wine/cocktails.

I avoid United and their scandals like the plague.
