Well they seem to have be working on something similar for a while back . . maybe its reconnected... would not be surprised to find Neah Power working in BC....
Sounds alot like the old Tekion, and Neah power so they might be looking at Neah.... seems to go along with their product line....

Solid-State Ceramic Technology: Designed with digital cameras, camcorders and cordless
phones in mind, Audiovox is demonstrating a super recharging system that can charge a two to
three hour solid-state ceramic battery in just a few minutes, instead of the hour or so it takes to
charge today’s lithium-ion batteries. The high-density, long-life battery can also sit in the closet
for up to two years without losing its charge, which means you won’t have to worry about
charging batteries when you grab the camera as you’re running out the door to the kid’s soccer
game. Look for this battery/super recharger in 2010-2011.
Fuel Cells: In the “coming sooner than you think” department, Audiovox is showing cuttingedge
fuel-cell technology for small, medium and large applications, including a handheld device
that accepts a cartridge that can provide 20 hours of charge time for a cell phone or smart phone.
“When the cartridge is spent, the resulting product is soapy water so there’s no negative impact
on the environment,” Lenzi said.
A brick-size fuel-cell booster for car batteries is also on display. “If you have a weak battery,”
Lenzi explained, “you pull this device out of your glove compartment, plug it into the cigarette
lighter, wait 10 minutes and start your car—all without having to open the hood or mess with
