I don't think it is a big deal...just saying the company didn't answer yes or no.

I would guess collaboration and partner are used to describe a client relationship in that type of business and nothing more.

I am in business development. When creating messaging for sales to communicate with clients it is common to say "we are you partners." "we collaborate with your XYZ department, etc., to peovide tailored solutions."

I wouldn't read anything into the PR wording. It is to impress the readers. They probably analyzed the data, provided Anavex with great information, and ended their client relationship, because the work is done.

Anavex most likely answered the way it did to prevent further questions, such as, what did you learn, was the information favorable, etc.
