Dear OFP the 57 week has to do with the initial 5 week Wash Out Period at the beginning of the test. Thats On and Off and On and Off definition of Wash Out Period. So get over that 57 week number. It is 52 weeks of being ON THE DRUG plus the first 5 weeks.

As to Placebo in the case of Alzheimer's The world already has lots of Placebo Tests of these patients. Over a years time they ALL decline in cognitive response.

Perhaps you and many others have never been around Dementia and Alzheimer's patients for any consistent long period of time? I had unfortunately. All of these patients will exhibit "Good and Bad" days. Some days you would think there is nothing wrong with them. And the next day they are mentally out in space someplace. But over a period of TIME. They all decline.

As to this other company with some short term test for Alzheimers I wouldn't believe any of their results. Unless they had started with patients who had 20 score MMSE and 100% of them all went to 30 MMSE score after this short 3 month test. Then I might think that they did have some real cure.
