I still believe silkworms are the superior way to go forward

Right now, i agree. You can achieve a higher strength and toughness with silkworms than is currently possible by spinning proteins in a lab. KBLB's 2 GPa strength claim far exceeds that of any microbial spinning technique that I have seen thus far. I think spinning technology will eventually overtake that, but I don't think that will happen for a while.
