My interests lie in the Applied Physics and Materials Science, encompassing the following objectives:
- Developing novel methods for the synthesis of materials relevant for energy-related applications, such as thermoelectric, magnetocaloric and photovoltaic materials;
- High-pressure/high-temperature single-crystal growth;
- Measuring and understanding the physical properties of materials, including crystal structure, electronic, thermal, magnetic and optical properties;
- Photovoltaic technologies: design, construction, and installation of solar cells, characterization of reliability and efficiency;
- Development and characterization of Li-ion batteries;
- Investigating innovative approaches and employing research-based methods for effectively and interactively teaching Physics and Materials Science.
