Never ends...HSBC JPMorgan, BAC among banks facing fines in rand-rigging probe, Bloomberg says South Africa's antitrust investigators urged that a dozen banks be fined for colluding and manipulating trades in the rand, according to Bloomberg. The Competition Commission identified Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAC), HSBC (HSBC), BNP Paribas (BNPQY), Credit Suisse (CS), JPMorgan (JPM) and Nomura (NMR) as among those that participated in price fixing and market allocation in the trading of foreign currency pairs involving the rand since 2007, the publication noted.
