I grew up outside Washington DC and didn't know what the South was until I moved here several years ago because of housing costs, schools and a general better quality of life. In my travels across the USA and Canada I have found people living in areas outside the midwest and northeast USA are more open and focus more on enjoying life rather than trying to get ahead. JMO and there are always exceptions. You can find good people anywhere if you look hard enough.
