When will they take SPaceX public, if ever? Something occurred to me that's a little exciting to think about, on a different note: SpaceX could team up with the likes of Organovo to develop and build a micro Gravity 3D bioprinter. That's a win for Elon Musk's long term human space travel pursuits.
If they succeeded, say, after 50 year in space the 3D bioprinter starts and 51 years of space travel is mitigated by new body parts like legs and arms. Or just a few years for solar system travel. That would make SpaceX even more valuable, AND if Elon ever needed to use some of the profits for Tesla, there would be more value at his disposal. So that bolsters TSLA for me quite a ways out.
Anyway, that's something long term astronauts could use to mitigate the wear and tear on an aging body in space. 3D bioprinted limbs might suffice, especially legs, but larger portions of the body can be envisioned.
Long term effects of space travel on humans has to be mitigated, either by supplanting humans with robots, or you have to enhance the cocoon you travel in, or you rejuvenate space worn humans at some point along the route to your destination, or for the ride home... Tesla has the tech and the need for such things. Hopefully someone there sees this, as they may not know about Organovo's 3D bioprinting technology. Hope it's not off topic, just convoluted lol.
