I bought DRYS as an investment last week. I like the recent $200 mil investment, and the company is getting diversified with dry shipping, offshore oil support, and they are getting into LNG shipping (compare the marketcap to Cheniere Energy). The CEO is nimble. On a related note check out ORIG. It's highly levered to oil and the CEO is involved.
