How to Get Pictures Off a TracFone and Put Them on a Computer

The popular TracFone cell phone requires no carrier contract fees, and provides good cellular coverage for many areas. The cell phone is inexpensive, and you purchase minutes on a "pay-as-you-go" scale, which is convenient if you're a frequent business traveler who needs inexpensive communication on the go. TracFone phones have no ports that enable direct computer connection for file sharing. Instead, use TracFone's Multimedia Messages, or MMS, feature to email pictures to your computer.

Send the Picture to Your Computer
1. Press the Menu key, represented by a disc icon on most TracFone models.

2. Use the arrow keys to select "Messages" from the display, and then press "Create," followed by "MMS."

3. Press the "Insert" key, or press the Menu key and select "Insert." Select your picture from the list of files, and then press the "OK" key or select "Select."

4. Select "Send To." Type your email address using the keypad, type a subject title, and then select "Send."

Open the Picture on Your Computer
1. Open your email program or log in to your Web mail account. If you do not see the email in your inbox, wait several minutes because the TracFone and email servers may need additional time to send the data.

2. Double-click the email you sent to yourself. Double-click the attachment file to open the image, or right-click on the image in the email and then select "Save As" from the context menu.

3. Type a name for your picture and save it to your computer.
