I agree. I can understand why they tried to get a receiver appointed; that would have given them what they wanted, presumably. But persisting in going after entities that really weren't responsible for what happened seems pointless to me.

As for Etrade's extension, there's probably an unexciting explanation. Maybe one or more of their attorneys is busy with something else right now.
