Get the nuvola np1 from nanotech. Only 350 bucks with only less than 60% of the capacities of amazon fire or chromecast.

On a serious note, the fire TV will suit most people fine for watching all sorts of sources, and with some deligent surfing on the net, there are ways to download non certified apps as well. (This is true of any smart device actually)
Combine this product with a digital TV usb receiver for OTA and you may be able to cut the cable cords. If cable is what you have now.

I dumped comcast using direct antenna for OTA plus apps from my smart Vizio TV and cut my viewing bill by 75% a month with 5 times more stuff to watch. Wish I did this years ago.
