In cancer, a tumor size reduction or non-growth is very measurable and objective criteria. In infection disease- the infection elimination is very concrete evidence.

Feeling good, or remembering things is based on subjective feedback of the patient who may not be in a condition to give very objective feedback. The caregivers also will 2nd hand information.

All in all - the placebo effect exists in all trials and all pharma companies consider it as part of their trials.
